Chris Ochoa, President & Founder

Chris Ochoa is the founder and president of effNETS, a foundation dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for families affected by pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).

 

With over 15 years in the technology industry, Chris has built a career in business development, technical training, and automation solutions, and he currently works with Bodhi helping integrators, distributors, and manufacturers deliver innovative technology solutions. In free time, he is a flight instructor, dedicated football coach, and wanna-be amateur golfer. 

 

Chris’s journey into advocacy began when his wife, Jessica, was diagnosed with pancreatic NETs, inspiring him to turn his family’s experience into a mission of hope, awareness, and community support. He now balances his professional career with his passion for helping others while enjoying life as a husband and father of three.

Jessica Ochoa, Vice President

Jessica Ochoa is the Vice President of effNETS and the inspiration behind the foundation’s mission. A proud Panama City, Panama native, Jessica has built a career defined by leadership and operational excellence. She currently serves as a Senior Operations Manager at Pepsi, where she drives efficiency and strategic improvements.


Jessica earned her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Florida State University (FSU) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Florida (UCF).


Her personal journey with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) has transformed her life into a mission of awareness, advocacy, and hope. Jessica’s strength and resilience inspire her family and fuel the vision of effNETS, where she works alongside her husband, Chris, to ensure no family faces this rare cancer alone.


Outside of her professional and advocacy work, Jessica is a devoted wife and mother of three, cherishing every moment with her family.


Anthony Reier, Treasurer

Anthony Reier serves as the Treasurer of effNETS, bringing over 15 years of experience in finance to the foundation. A proud Ohio State University graduate with a degree in Finance, Anthony was selected for this role because of his financial expertise, strategic insight, and unwavering support of the effNETS mission.


Outside of his professional life, Anthony is a devoted father of three, a passionate baseball coach, and a PGA-level golfer. He is known for his loyalty, generosity, and his willingness to do anything for the people he cares about.


Anthony’s combination of professional knowledge and personal dedication makes him an invaluable part of the effNETS team as he helps the foundation thrive and continue its mission to support families affected by pancreatic NETs and raise awareness for this rare cancer.

Elizabeth Fuentes, Secretary

Liz Fuentes serves as the Secretary of effNETS, bringing five years of experience in the technology industry and a strong background in administration and organization to the foundation. Her attention to detail and natural ability to support and connect with others make her an essential part of the board.


Liz is married and expecting her first child, proudly embracing life as both a soon-to-be mom and a devoted dog mom. She is known for her loyalty, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond for friends and loved ones. Her close friendship with Jessica, spanning over 10 years, and her commitment to helping others in their most challenging times are what drive her dedication to the effNETS mission.


With her caring nature and steadfast support, Liz plays a key role in ensuring effNETS continues to foster hope, awareness, and community for families impacted by pancreatic NETs.

Advisory Board Members

Joe Ochoa is a devoted father to two daughters and a son, and a loving husband to his wife, Dyan. A Minnesota native, Joe grew up alongside his brother Chris, sharing a lifelong bond rooted in family and community. Professionally, he serves as a Business Analyst at Cisco, where he is recognized for his expertise and problem-solving skills. Outside of work, Joe is an avid fisherman and enjoys spending his days in the great outdoors, often traveling in his RV to camp with family. His caring nature, dedication to his loved ones, and passion for giving back make him a valued member of the effNETS Advisory Board.
